SEATING

I've become a chair hound.

Broken or whole, spindles and backs, seats and legs. Parts. Occasionally, I'll come across a single decent chair. Some rare find will fetch two like chairs, so when I came across a full set I was pretty stoked.

Other than some greasy hand spots in all the obvious places the chairs were in really good shape. I took the belt sander to them to "soften" some the edges and prep them for future distressing.

After two coats of Safety Red, they were looking pretty amazing. I could have stopped there and been happy, but I decided to follow through.

I sanded and distressed in between coats, but I'm not so sure that they'll exhibit any of this wear and tear by the time I'm done.

Each set of legs received a blast of Cabernet followed by black. Once I get all the spindles and seats masked off, the back support will get coated in black, too. Then done! (hopefully)
